Leadership Spencer County

A Tradition of Growing Leaders

Leadership Spencer County is an independent, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote a progressive, unified Spencer County by identifying and developing leaders to serve our community.

Leadership Spencer County was established in 1997 by a group of citizens concerned about the future of Spencer County, Indiana. Spencer County is in the heart of Abraham Lincoln's childhood home and has a tradition of growing leaders. Now, more than ever, we must rely on this tradition to create community leaders who are prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century: adapting to change, building unity amidst diversity, and recognizing and encouraging the creative use of our local talents.

Our leadership program is designed to strengthen our county community by enhancing the leadership capacities its citizens and by providing a means for area men and women to assume a more active role in meeting community needs.

NEARLY $15M AWARDED FOR FIBER BROADBAND

Having been awarded nearly $15 million from Indiana’s Next Level Connections program in addition to grant funding via Connect America Fund (CAF), PSC teamed up with Southern Indiana Power (SIP) in 2020, to build out and provide fiber broadband services to thousands of unserved residences and businesses in Spencer county.
